Shopping for a Used 2020 Subaru BRZ
The 2020 BRZ is a previous-generation sports coupe. This guide helps Delray Beach, Boca Raton and Boynton Beach shoppers evaluate a pre-owned example. It is historical research, not a current new-car offer or a promise of local stock.
Limited, tS and Transmission Differences
Subaru's U.S. 2020 lineup included Limited and tS. The 2.0-liter engine produced 205 horsepower with the six-speed manual, or 200 horsepower with the optional automatic. BRZ is rear-wheel drive. The Limited's available manual-transmission Performance Package added Brembo brakes and SACHS dampers; tS brought additional STI-tuned chassis equipment. Verify the exact car's factory specification and any subsequent modifications.
Six Checks Before Buying
- Choose the transmission you enjoy. Test pedal reach, clutch engagement and shift feel on a manual. Try the automatic's response on a suitable test-drive route.
- Ask about modifications. Request available receipts for suspension, exhaust, engine or wheel changes. Ask whether original components are included and what the inspection found.
- Review vehicle history. Discuss maintenance records, reported damage, repair documentation and prior use. Condition matters more than a trim badge.
- Inspect tires and brakes. Review tread, wear patterns and available inspection measurements. Ask about replacement needs before comparing total purchase costs.
- Check daily usability. Try seat access, visibility, air conditioning, phone pairing and parking. Bring your normal bags to see whether the coupe fits your routine.
- Get the details in writing. Confirm the VIN, equipment, included coverage and itemized purchase figures. Certification or warranty coverage must be established for that specific vehicle.
